Manage the development, optimisation and maintenance of database systems and core applications.

Manage application and database reporting

Manage licensing of database and core application software

Manage relationships with vendors and suppliers

Ensure systems meet required levels of service and security

Ensure systems are well documented to company standards

Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)

Microsoft certified developer or similar

RHCE or similar Unix/Linux certification

Degree or equivalent IT qualification

Java and middleware/SQL skills

Oracle and SQL database Servers

Oracle Application server(10g or any java application server)

Hands-on experience in Oracle, MS SQL2000, Linux/Win2K system administration and solid database performance tuning skill.

Experience in datawarehousing and management of data warehouses.

Backup and restoration of databases.

Knowledge of middleware technologies eg Orion, Oracle app svr (java app svr) platforms.

Able to work independently and with minimal supervision

Team player who must be able work collaboratively in a global environment
