Intermediate Engineer - Telecom

The Intermediate Engineer II will contribute to the successful execution of customer projects. Working with other technical staff, Project Managers, and customers, the selected candidate will design, test, and commission communication systems and data networks. The individual in this position will be working in the Connectivity group and will require an interest or experience in Telecom Engineering.

Areas of Accountability

1. Project Execution

Create Network Architecture and Block Diagram drawings

Perform a network loading based upon the proposed architecture

Perform a FO link budget analysis

Define and specify all required network cables

Complete cable schedules for specified network cables

Obtain quotations for cables

Provide technical write up for System Design Document

Develop design basis documents, specifications, cost estimates, and scopes of work

In coordination with Corporate Procurement group, select equipment vendors and procure equipment

Monitor project costs and ensure project is delivered to the estimate

Provide mentoring and work direction to junior project team members

Technical Skills

Strong familiarity with common forms of data transmission

Experience with RF and Telco based systems

Familiarity with Ethernet LANs and WANs

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
