Responsibilities:

Leads and manages a small team of engineers

Defines project and release scope, develops project plans & deliverables, detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans and status reports

Collaborates with cross-functional teams and business unit leadership in developing project objectives, change requests and timelines

Functions as a single point of contact for assigned release/project(s) for project staff, management and business unit

Delegates project assignments to project teams or individual

Owns all project documentation for status, risk management and problem reporting

Conducts project meetings and provides regular reporting. Ensure that projects are complete according to schedule and within budget

Works with the product management and engineering teams to bring new solutions into practice and to measure operational performance

Hands-on contributor designing and writing code

Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

8 – 10 years of Software Development experience that includes 3+ years as a Development Manager.

Excellent technical, analytical, people management and communication skills.

Experience with object-oriented programming and methodologies (Java and/or C++).

Strong knowledge/experience with software development methodologies and processes.

Technically competent in web application technologies (XML, J2EE), database technologies (Oracle, SQL Server or DB2), platforms (UNIX and Windows).

Knowledge of Configuration Management and defect tracking tools.
