Requirements for an online dating site:
1. Ability of people to tick off data field of over 100-300 questions/entrees.
2. Data base should be accessible from any where in the world through internet for inputting/search matches. Input data would primarily be only what is required for billing and the password and alias etc.
3. It should be able to handle very large number (over 100,000 -1million subscribers or more) of people accessing this database world wide at the same time, without overloading the system.
4. The objective of the site I am seeking is different than any thing else that is already there in the online dating world. However, it is similar to the eharmony.com and chemistry.com in that it seeks deeper matching of values, goals, so that emotional decision process is taken out by matching complimentary needs of the couple. It truly has to serve, different groups, nationality, lifestyle, languages and races of people at one global setting. It has to be fully automated requiring very minimal manpower to manage except for customer service for refunds or handling abusive use etc.
5. In one way it would be different would be that no pictures would be shown at all. In alternative, the pictures would be only available when two parties have mutually agreed to go further and exchange pictures.
6. The system design need to keep in mind that it needs to work efficient by design so that it does not require too much transfer of data so as to require only smaller servers of retail variety rather than the more expensive commercial. Initially, it should be able to run on competitively priced web hosting company shared servers. At lease till such time as we may want to host our self for saving money.
7. The designer needs to keep in mind the future of computing and storage technology.
8. Please quote the total price for such a job, the time it will require to develop into fully functional package, which should include the ability of two people emailing each other through anonymous email. Additionally, a reminder of inactivity every 80 days or so for updating and logging etc.
9. Some kind of module for buying subscription to such a service.
10. We will also consider buying can software for this purpose and modify to suite our needs.
