Overall responsibilities will include:

1. Spend and supplier profile analysis utilizing existing data from the NYCDOE’s financial management system, purchasing portal and business intelligence tools.

2. Manage overall requirements gathering for new operation model..

3. Map new solutions and develop implementation plans that integrate said operating model into existing environment (including existing IT tools).

4. Special emphasis should be placed on identifying proven, cost effective business-to-business strategies that could be implemented in support of business requirements

5. Drive the utilization of strategic sourcing tools and best practices in order to achieve best value with suppliers, breadth of offering, and end user satisfaction.

6. Develop and manage overall project plans as necessary, including coordination with key stakeholders, business process owners and end users.

7. Take a lead role in mapping change management processes in support of the newly implemented business solutions (“The To Be Process”).

8. Drive supply chain organizational design.

9. Drive the development of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and recommend a process for capturing necessary data and its reporting.

The minimum core competencies and qualifications required for this position are:

1. Four (4) or more years of relevant work experience (Required).

2. Experience in business process development and/or re-engineering (Required).

3. Experience in media and communications industries (publishing strongly desired).

4. Significant past experience in developing spend analytics, business processes, transaction mapping and supplier relationships (highly desired).

5. Strong writing and verbal communication skills (Required).

6. Strong skills in MS Access, Excel and PowerPoint (Required).
