SQL 2005 Administrator (DBA) – (must haves):

•             Working knowledge on all administration aspects of SQL 2005 (a person who has worked on 2000 and has fair knowledge on 2005 can also be considered). – Some of the key skills within administration would be Replication, backup/ restore functions, Logshipping, SQL clustering, DTS packages, Mirroring, SQL Agent jobs, SSIS packages (trained knowledge is good for SSIT), running profiler, troubleshooting SQL logs and event logs if any service goes offline.

•             We may not need any SQL developers here.

•             Troubleshooting skills on administration aspects of SQL 2000/ 2005 should be good.

•             On a scale of 10, a resource who is at 7 on above skills should be acceptable.

 

Additional knowledge (good to have):

 

1.            IIS Administration 6.0/7.0. 5/10 scale should be good.

2.            Windows clustering/ administration knowledge 5/10 scale should be good again.

3.            Basic networking knowledge, e.g. knowing commands like ping, ipconfig, etc

 

Strong experience in SQL Server Production support in 24X7 environment is required.
