Due to organic growth my client requires a Sales Engineer to work in conjunction with Sales, Marketing and Product Managers. The Sales engineer will be the technical bridge between Sales Representatives and their pre-sales customers. The Sales Engineer will take ownership of the prime technical relationship with pre-sales customers to drive customer satisfaction by proactively managing and delivering technical information to customers both onsite, online and via telephone. # # The role of the sales engineer will include:# # ##Share best practices with Sales Engineers to enhance the quality and efficiency of the other members ##Maintain and expand working knowledge of current and beta (non-released) products. ##Provide software/network troubleshooting on minor technical issues to channel/presales customers ##Prepare and deliver product training to both sales and Premium Resellers (technical and sales staff) ##Presentations � preparation, delivery and follow up on technical presentations ##Product demos � preparation, delivery and follow up on technical product demos ##Provide technical back up to sales � attend trade shows, follow up after sales calls/visits etc ##Day to day � deal with unscheduled items e.g. internal questions from sales, incoming presales calls etc
Minimum 2 years basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows NT/2000 or UNIX (AS/400 or S390) Operating Systems. Minimum 2 years experience in one or more of the following: Server/Desktop Operating Systems, Networking Architecture, Messaging Servers, Firewalls, Inter-relational Products and Peripherals customized to each client network. Minimum 2 years Sales/Sales Engineer experience in computer software or systems and/or technical support. One or more of the following certifications or related experience: MCSE Certification NT 4.0 or MCSE 2000 Certification, UNIX System Administrator/Solaris Administrator, Certified Lotus Professional, CNE or CNA # # This is a demanding job with a dynamic market leading company.
