JOB BODY

       Initial Technical investigation of Sun hardware or software
       Provide setup and config assistance
       Collect messages files and error logs
       Assist end user with syntax & general command issues
       Assist systems administrator in general problem resolution
       Know how to access and utilize SUN systems administrators to self help tools such as SunSolve
       Resolve general technical problems and answer information requests
       Run basic diagnostics on hardware devices (POST)
       Run advanced diagnostics on hardware devices (VTS)
       Collect explorer and crash dump info
       Review patch levels and assist and implement patch management
       Provide general workarounds
       Assist end user with command & configuration problems
       Assist with interoperability & connectivity issues
       Investigate performance issues
       Diagnose hardware failure to subsystem level (ie disk, network, server).
       Carry out FRU/CRU requirements (ie controller, power supply, DIMM)
       Manage implementation of FIN's/FCO's for end user
       Enable debugging tools as required
 

       Three to Five years of extensive IT experience in SUN Products/Services with hands-on exposure in managing mission critical production environment.
      Experience in Installation, configuration, administration of various Sun high End/Midrange servers  like Sun fire E6xxx,E4xxx, v880-v890-v490-v490-v440-v250-v240- v210 servers; Storage  Like Sun 3xxx, 5xxx, 6xxx, 9xxx; Tape Libraries like C4, L25, L100, L500.
      Experience in Administration and configuration of Solaris 8-10. SUN Enterprise backup, Solaris volume manager, Veritas Volume Manager, Veritas NetBackup, shell scripting.
      Knowledge of ORACLE 9i & 10g under SOLARIS environments.
      Knowledge of TPC/IP networking and DNS, NFS, DHCP.
      Exposure to SUN CLUSTER 3.x, SAN, NAS, SYBASE is preferred
      Certification in  SUN, ORACLE, VERITAS is preferred.
      Exposure to project planning, designing, installation, configuration & maintenance of high-end hardware, software, storage, Volume managers, security & performance tuning
      Good team member with ability to lead the team of technical group.
      Excellent reporting and documentation skills.
