As part of the Telephony Applications team, the successful candidate will be involved in:

Subject matter expert relative IP Voice Applications and their requirements

Transforming existing legacy voice applications into next generation applications

Application architecture and design

Application integration/development

Development of technical requirement and technology evaluation

Leading cross functional teams in the deployment of new technology

Working with Vendors regarding technology development and requirements.

Besides having an indepth understanding on how IP applications peer across networks the successful candidate should have experience/knowledge in the following areas:

Next generation software engineering principles and practices the successful candidate

Understanding of IP Voice and Data networks

Working knowledge of industry standards relative to protocols and signaling (eg. SOAP/XML, VXML, SIP, Diameter, etc...)

Working knowledge of various operating systems (eg. UNIX)

Knowledge of object orientated programming languages (eg. Java, C++)

Knowledge of web based application development

System integration

Knowledge of Voice networks (SS7, Switching, Advanced Inteligent Networks.

Required Skills & Abilities:

A self-starter with good communication skills capable of working independently and in team environments.

Ability to work in and influence cross–functional service development project teams.

Business acumen and strong customer focus.

Demonstrated problem solving ability.

The ability to learn and stay abreast of emerging telecommunication technologies with a view of creating and
evolving commercial network based services in a vendor independent manner.

Required Professional Designation/Certification:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science or equivalent
work related experience.
Required Experience:

Experience developing voice applications

Experience deploying technology into an operational area

Experience in developing software applications in a cross functional team

Experience with  session board controllers and enum servers.
