Reporting to the Software Manager - Electronics, the Windows Software Engineer will have direct responsibility for the design, implementation, test, documentation, and maintenance of software. Additional responsibilities include the creation and maintenance of specialized software utilities for Applications Engineering and manufacturing support. The candidate will work as part of a development team, and must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.

Solutions are typically Microsoft Windows based and operate on Windows XP, Windows Server 2000/2003 and CE platforms. Products are developed to operate in a distributed multi-tier networking environment and the candidate must possess experience in the development of these types of solutions. OPC experience would be considered an asset.

The applicant must have a 4 year degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) combined with experience in the analysis, design, and development of Windows and Web based applications.  The candidate must have at least 3 years of experience using a combination of the following technologies:

 

·         Developing distributed, multi-tier Internet based applications, Web Server applications, and Web Services using the latest tools and technologies such as .NET, ASP/ASP.NET, ActiveX/COM, COM+/MTS, and XML/SOAP.

·         Developing .NET and DCOM component based applications using Microsoft Visual C++, C#, and ATL.

·         Using a Visual Studio.NET 2003 or 2005 development environment.

·         Working knowledge of SQL databases.

·         Exposure to application deployment technologies such as Install Shield, MSI, or similar, and Report generation tools such as Crystal Reports.
