Project Detail:
The GSWAN is Hub and Spoke kind of network and it aims at connecting the District head quarters and Talukas head quarters with the state capital- Gandhinagar, by fiber optic links leased from BSNL. The wide area network will be the backbone for Data, Video, and Voice transmission throughout the state for the Government. The State Center (SC), located in the Secretariat will be connected to the 25 District Center’s (DCs), situated at the respective district head quarters and DCs will be connected to the 225 Taluka Centers (TCs) and 32 other offices in each district situated at the respective Taluka head quarters in a wide area network scenario.
The network comprises of CISCO Routers, integrates the transmission of Data Voice and Video. The Routers are used for connecting local LANs, ALCATEL EPABX, Nortel EPABX and IP based Video Conferencing equipment at each location to route data (data and video) and voice to respective destinations.
