JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Webmaster / IT Support position will coordinate the planning, development, and maintenance of five or more Web sites to support the online business and brand building strategies of our client.
This individual is also responsible for managing SEO and sponsorship tasks to augment online presence.
The successful incumbent should have an understanding of a variety of Web development languages and best practice. This task master will be comfortable working with direction from a variety of departments and operating in an IT capacity; assisting with troubleshooting where necessary.
Strategy & Planning
. Coordinate content creators from external vendors
. Liaise with management on hardware and software issues that affect the Web sites
. Assess and itemize costs for Web site enhancements and modifications
. Develop, implement, and adhere to regular Web site maintenance policies and procedures, including end user content change request forms and posted update/maintenance schedules, to ensure site accuracy and timeliness
. Develop, implement, and enforce Web site appropriate use and privacy policies
. Assess competing Web sites as regards to content, look and feel, and functionality, and make improvement recommendations to our organization's site
Operational Management
. Identify, recommend, prioritize and implement new Web features and applications in conjunction with business leaders and department managers
. Create and maintain a consistent Web site architectural structure
. Ensure a consistent look and feel across the Web site by promoting uniform fonts, formatting, icons, images, and layout, and creating appropriate templates to assist content authors
. Find, diagnose, and fix Web site problems, including broken links (both internal and external), typographical errors, and formatting inconsistencies
. Identify, implement, and manage Web site presence and promotion opportunities, such as search engine registration and establishing pointer links from other relevant Web sites
. Participate in the development and integration of graphical and multimedia components into the Web site, including audio and video, with due regard paid to appropriate compression techniques, resolution, sizes, color maps, and depths to ensure high quality and speed of delivery
. Monitor, analyze, and report on Web site traffic. Create tracking methodologies to measure drive-to-web marketing effectiveness
. SEO Management including monitoring search engine ranking, keeping on top of changes in search engine trends and responding accordingly
. Receive and respond to all e-mail messages for the Webmaster in a timely and courteous fashion
. Update Web pages to ensure site accuracy and currency
. Diagnose and troubleshoot and serve as system administrator
. Ensure security of all Web sites and related applications
. Perform periodic Web site audits
. Perform competitive keyword research and analyze competition IT Management . Troubleshoot all technical difficulties within the organization . Assist with computer networking . Manage the exchange server
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
. Bachelor's degree combined with at least two to four years of work experience in developing and maintaining websites and IT Management
. Excellent knowledge of Web technologies, protocols, and tools including ASP.NET or PHP
. Advanced programming experience with HTML and CSS . Experience with Microsoft Exchange servers
. Working knowledge of Web authoring, development, and publishing tools . Experience with computer graphic and multimedia design
. Comprehensive experience with all aspects of Web site content management
. Sensitivity to browser compatibility issues
. Hands-on experience with Web-database integration and a range of database platforms, including MS SQL Server 2000 & 2005
. Experience in gathering, analyzing, and meeting business requirements
. Understanding of basic project management principles
. Ability to translate organization's goals and objectives into tactical Web site design
. Good knowledge of applicable data privacy practices
